I used this tutorial to get the master sword early cause I didn't wanna wait till I got 13+ hearts The only thing is I wanna do the Trial of the Sword to upgrade my Master Sword, but when I go to the pedestal to do the trials it plays the trials cutscene then gives me the option to pull the sword, I can't actually start the trials.

Yes, you need to get a "skew angle" by bonking on certain surfaces. If you tried to do it without bonking at those places first, you would just shield jump normally instead of clipping through the wall.
