You can definitely prelog food in LoseIt, although that may be a premium feature (all I have ever used.) Food database is really similar, although LoseIt will scan labels and impute the calories too (not just scan the barcodes). I think Loseit is "cleaner" and less distracting than MFP. MFP is great too. Users choice. Can't go wrong.

I used LifeSum for a couple months, then downloaded MFP since everyone talks about it but hated it. Settled on LoseIt! and have been happy with that. They all do more or less the same thing though, mostly you just need to figure out which one is easiest for you to navigate. I use MFP, but only because I have so much data saved in it.
