any build is viable for PvE. people have completed the game SL1, no reason why a pyro wouldn't work. black knight weapons are your go-to for pyro builds because they have innate fire damage and there's a few different ones to choose from. if you're more for strength weapons then you could invest 50 STR to use the Iron King Hammer (or 25 …- combos into black flame, dealing a 3rd of a 45 vigor build - low stamina usage it's only issue is it's range, which is still better than all daggers but one of the worst with straight swords. in-fact, i'd go as far as saying it's one of the best duel weapons, aside from dark lks + bks and a pkcs

On all my pyro builds, I started by building my melee stat, and once I get to comfortable numbers there (usually around abyss watchers or Deacons), I'll start building int/faith and attunement. Late game, infuse your weapon with chaos/dark since those both scale with int/faith.
